THE SYNOPSIS OF THE RAMAYANA BALLET AT PRAMBANAN / PURAWISATA
 

With the help Kalamaricha who transforms himself into a golden deer, Rahwana is able to kidnap Sinta. Jatayu tries to save the princess but he is defeated and falls to the ground. As Jatayu dies, he tells Rama that Sinta has been kidnapped by Rahwana. Knowing that his beloved wife is kidnapped, Rama orders Hanoman to travel to Alengka and to observe Sinta's condition. Hanoman meets Sinta in the Argasoka garden and gives Rama's ring to Sinta and as the answer; she sends her hairpin ornament to Rama. After Hanoman completes his duty, he destroys the beautiful Argasoka garden. This causes Rahwana to become very angry and he commands his men to burn the white creature. Hanoman avoids death, as he possesses super natural power. When the soldier are commanded to the battle, Hindrajid asks Kumbokarno for assistance and engages in fight with Rama who defeats him. In the battle, Alengka's soldier are killed as well as Kumbokarno and Hindrajid. Rahwana and Rama finally meet in battle and at last Rahwana is defeated and killed. Hanoman fetches Sinta who is very happy to meet her beloved husband. However, Rama rejects her for having doubts of his wife's purity and asks her to have a holy bath by jumping into a burning fire. Sinta calmly steps into the holy fire, since in her indeed pure. Finally Rama and Sinta return to the Pancawati kingdom where they live happily ever after.
